Food was top tier (I got the soup-less tan tan and it was delicious, flavorful, good portion and had a bit of a broth so *shrugs* but I loved it. I also got a tofu bun which was delightful). Service was great (we had one woman doing everything, not sure how she managed but she rocked). Atmosphere was good but I believe no music and small intimate space so could be awkward at times (if you let it). Only one bathroom too, hard to tell if someone is inside. They have an amazing alcohol (sake/beer particularly) selection. Loved it will be back soon :)

Had the deluxe ramen for $21 and a pork bun, paired with a cold Sapporo. The broth was rich and creamy, the pork was tender, and the bun disappeared fast. Even the beer glass had a little manga panel about how to slurp your noodles properly, which says a lot about how much they care here. Everything was great and very authentic. I will be back.

Tantan ramen & their signature ramens’ brothes were really deep in flavors. Owner definitely doesnt cut corners and seems to be a beer fanatic. The beer list was SOLID. Didnt try Sake but seems extensive as well

This is the best Soupless Tantanmen in New York City 🍜💎 We loved the shishito pepper w/ sesame. We loved the fresh cucumber salad topped with saffron and crispy takoyaki with lovely bonito flakes A lovely calm space to enjoy on a Sunday in Astoria. I will be back for the Kyoto Matcha IPA and the speciality Japanese beer/rice wine selections 🍺🍻🍵🍵

I went to Susuru on a Friday afternoon with a friend, and was absolutely blown away. We ordered miso ramen, along with garlic edamame and gyozas. Everything was cooked to perfection and full of flavor. The miso broth was hearty and not too oily! The staff was so attentive and friendly and I can’t wait to go back. An absolute must if you’re in the area and definitely a place to visit even if you have to go out of your way!
